Teresa Cocke grew up in San Antonio, Texas and has a background in dance. She received her Bachelor of Science from Baylor University, was a personal trainer and certified aerobics instructor (AFAA) through college years. After graduating, she moved to Dallas, where she currently lives. She and her husband Jim, enjoy spending time with their 2 now adult children, Jacob and Cassidy.
Teresa began practicing yoga in 2003 and mentoring distance running with Team in Training. She gradually changed her focus from aerobic exercise to strength, flexibility and holistic care for the body and became a certified yoga instructor. She has 200hr R-HYI and 500hr Masters-HYI certifications and specialty certifications in Pre-Post Natal Yoga, Chair and Senior Yoga, Kids Yoga, Touch Training and is a Dr. Fishman's Certified Instructor in Yoga for Osteopenia and Osteoporosis as well as a Dr Fishman‘s Yoga for Back Pain Instructor.
In 2015, she began her study of Pilates with Master Teacher and mentor, Chacha Guerrero, exclusively trained with and in 2017 received her Pilates Instructor Certification from Pilates Heritage. She taught in Arlington Tx at Metroplex Pilates and currently instructs in Dallas at Body and Soul Movement Studio.
She has hosted free community yoga classes, taught yoga therapy with the Restart Ministries for female inmates and Simply Grace Sobriety House, helped host Jesus at the Core in Dallas and was guest yoga instructor for Regional Dance America. She considers it a blessing to share her passion for health and wellness through the work of Joseph Pilates and the holistic practice of yoga.
